Helene was born in Stockholm in 1971 and has been drawing and painting ever since she was a child. After gaining basic knowledge at the Municipal Art School in Jönköping, Sweden, from the artist Claude Roquebert she went on to study art at Lund University.

In recent years Helene’s art has been focused on portraits of dogs taking on human characteristics and matching attributes. The settings displayed in the paintings are carefully chosen considering the model, the context, and the unique relationship between the dog and its owner. In the world of fables, a genre well-known to both children and adults, such artistic freedom is permitted.
